EZdesk support and some of our members report a virus targeting Mortgage Professionals.  This virus is cleverly disguised as a message concerning NAMB issues or joining a Yahoo mortgage discussion group or other relevant content for loan professionals. 

The infected emails have several subjects:

The most common subjects are:

    1) Welcome to alternativelending

    2) Bankruptcy Bill Update - Schumer amendment passed

    3) Approved

    4) Re: Your application

    5) Exclusive Leads Starting at Just $15!

    6) Free Websites

Most all files that we have seen have a .PDF.pif extension.  A few have an .scr extension or txt.pif

DO NOT open these attachment files.  They will infect your computer. 

No reported damage has been reported as all reports have been from parties that identified the threat and did not open the file.
