| EZdesk Alert - Date: 01/26/04 We are experiencing dozens of virus laden email files per hour coming in from members and it is increasing steadily. While we are not having problems with the virus penetrating our security, you should be aware the following described types of emails can not be trusted regardless of whom they are from. They will ONLY come to you from someone who has your address in their address book. That means they will come to you from SOMEONE YOU KNOW. MEMO: The "Mydoom" worm has numerous subject lines and attachment names, making
it difficult for you to identify. If you open an infected attachment, the
worm will spread by sending itself to email addresses it collects from your
computer. The worm also installs a malicious program that allows the virus
writer to have remote access to your computer. This program can record all
of your keyboard keystrokes and send personal information, passwords and
activity to the virus creator. Please use extra caution when opening emails
with attachments. Attachment: (Random) Appears to have a text file icon even though it ends
in ".exe", ".zip", ".pif", ".scr" or ".cmd" End of Memo ---- FAQ - Q. Can I catch the virus from EZdesk site or
mail. Q. What should I do? Close window to return to EZdesk. This is a critical alert notice for EZdesk members and visitors. |
